Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company and a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. Waymo is the world's first fully autonomous ride-hailing service, available 24/7 in select cities. Users can request rides through the Waymo One app, which operates in areas like Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Austin. The service is designed to be convenient, safe, and sustainable, utilizing a fleet of fully electric vehicles powered by renewable energy .
Waymo currently operates approximately 1,500 Jaguar I-Pace vehicles as part of its robotaxi fleet, with plans to expand this number to 3,500 by 2026. The company is also testing new models, including the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Zeekr RT minivan, to diversify its fleet .
